Node.js uses an event-driven, non-blocking model that makes it lightweight and efficient, perfect for data-intensive real-time applications that run across distributed devices. This simple web server written in Node responds with “Hello World” for every request. To run the server, put the code into a file example.js and execute it with the node program from the command line.
Before you begin this guide, you should have a regular, non-root user with sudo privileges configured on your server. You can learn how to configure a regular user account by following steps 1-4 in our initial server setup guide for Ubuntu 14.04.
As well as support for all default Gutenberg blocks, Onyx includes our ‘Ecko Blocks’ plugin, which introduces a number of custom blocks to enhance your content – these blocks are easily accessed via the Gutenberg editor. Further information on blocks and their usage can be found in the provided theme documentation. Below is an example of these custom blocks, and a selection of default WordPress blocks with theme specific styling.
